I needed a second opinion after being tortured and overcharged (long story) by the one my insurance covers, they worked me in when I took my mom in for her appt. Gave me some honest answers and advice regarding what my dentist in Missouri did (not my dentist much longer, if ever!) Staff does their best to be professional while very personable and that was my experience today. Dr. Evan is the only dentist in ages I haven't been terrified of which at my age (50's) may sound silly but I don't care, I'm speaking the truth. As someone who is HIGHLY dental phobic, I can sincerely say that this dental practice is the absolute best. Dr. Evan is so amazing!! Not only is he very kind and gentle in nature, his compassion for the comfort and ease of his patients is something I hadn't experienced before. In the midst of the work I was having done, I still had some areas of sensitivity and he was so patient with me and it was his first concern to stop and add additional numbing just to ensure my comfort. His hygienists he has on staff are stellar. Being phobic, I have avoided the routine care, so I had quite a bit of tartar build up. Instead of judging me, I was met with understanding and the hygienist expressed actual excitement of being able to to perform the deep cleansing as she stated, "helping me achieve healthier oral conditions and habits pleased her to be able to do this for me". They genuinely care about the health of their patients. Not just the physical, but emotional as well, in accommodating my fears. They have actually changed my perspectives and for me to say that I am looking forward to coming back for next appointment, is nothing short of a miracle. Please don't hesitate in coming here. They are truly not like the rest.

He does everything to make a sometimes hard and painful experience as easy, non painful and manageable as he possibly can. So far, so good after my first visit. Was not happy with previous dentist due to the fact that I felt they were trying to just get money out of me by telling me I needed work done that wasn't necessary. Did quite a bit of research online and decided to go with SADA. Front desk staff: very friendly and accommodating when I couldn't find my insurance card. Veronica, my dental hygienist was also very friendly and gentle, answered many of my questions, didn't pressure me to get any extra treatments or advise me to have any extra work done. Dr. E was super friendly, informative, laid back and made me feel very comfortable. Again, no pressure to have me get any extra work right away - showed me an image of a tooth he says he will keep an eye on but assured me it could be done a little later, which I appreciated. The facilities were state of the art - more up to date than my previous dentist and they took my insurance (Delta dental). Over all a very good experience. Very happy to have found a new dentist!

I called for an abscessed tooth that has been bothering me pretty badly. After calling around to multiple places and being turned away due to availability. I called South Austin Dental and Alina was able to fit me into their tight schedule so that they could get the initial visit out of the way and get me on something to help with the infection and pain. Upon arriving I was greatest warmly by Alina and the anxiety of being at a dentist started to wash away. I didn't have to wait very long at all before the Dental Hygienist Susan called me to the back. She too was very kind and gentle and helped me to get my teeth selfies taken. Initially I had come in looking just to get the bad tooth pulled and the infection gone but after my experience I decided to become a new patient instead. Dentistry, from cleanings, to injections, to crowns, is relatively painless and my visits are not only pleasant, but enjoyable -- I've been known to laugh during injections. Dr. M is a gem! I am usually skeptical about dentists saying "you have a cavity" and always doing more work than what needs to be done, but he didn't do that. He was very honest with procedures I would need done over the next year and worked with me on what was most important to address versus saying "we have to do it all now". His openness and honesty were so refreshing, so happy I found my dentist!!!

I love this office Dr Matthysse is a great dentist he doesn’t overwhelm he explains everything. His front office girl Cindy and Alina always explained treatment and if you need to come in on a last minute for an emergency Cindy gets you in and will explain your insurance if needed.

We have been going to South Austin Dental Associates for about 10 years. Dr. Chelkowski’s hygienist Karina is the best! She has a very gentle touch and is super sweet. I’ve never had to wait more than a couple minutes to be taken back to the exam room or to see Dr. C after Karina is finished with the cleaning. Fortunately for me, I haven’t had to have any major dental work, but Dr. C has fitted me for a night guard, and it came out really good.

The previous reviews appear to be the same angry man posting twice and probably couldn't ever be made happy with anything. My mother in law, my wife, and myself have been coming here for 30 years. My kids for 12 years. They do great work and are VERY competent in all phases of dentistry including insurance. I highly recommend them.
