Same-Day Crowns

Same-day crowns, also known as single-visit crowns or chairside crowns, are dental crowns that are designed, fabricated, and placed in a single dental appointment, typically within a few hours. With same-day ceramic crowns, advanced CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) technology is used in the dental office to create the crown on-site, often using materials like ceramic or composite resin. This allows patients to have their damaged or decayed teeth restored with a permanent crown in just one visit, saving time and eliminating the need for temporary crowns.

Our dentist will begin by examining your tooth to determine if a crown is necessary. If so, they will prepare the tooth by removing any decay or damaged areas and shaping it to accommodate the crown.

Digital Impressions

Our dentist will take digital impressions of your prepared tooth using a handheld scanner. These digital scans provide highly accurate measurements and eliminate the need for messy impressions.

Design Phase

Using specialized software, our dentist will create a digital model of your crown based on the digital impressions. They will customize the design to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth.

In-Office Fabrication

The digital design is sent to a milling machine within the dental office. The milling machine carves your crown out of a solid block of ceramic or other durable materials. This process typically takes about an hour.

Finishing Touches

After the crown is milled, our dentist will make any required final adjustments to ensure it fits perfectly and looks natural. They will also polish the crown to enhance its appearance.

Once the crown is ready, our dentist will place it on your tooth to check the fit and alignment. If everything looks good, the crown will be permanently bonded into place using dental cement.

Final Check

Our dentist will assess your bite and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the crown feels comfortable and functions properly. They will also provide you with aftercare instructions.

Same-day crowns are fabricated using digital impressions and CAD/CAM technology, which allows for precise customization to fit your tooth perfectly. This results in a crown that feels natural and comfortable in your mouth.

Same-day crowns are made from high-quality materials such as ceramic or composite resin, which can be color-matched to blend in seamlessly with your natural teeth. This ensures a beautiful and natural-looking restoration that enhances your smile.

Since the entire process of preparing, designing, and placing the crown is completed in a single appointment, you won't have to take time off work or rearrange your schedule for multiple dental visits. This makes same-day crowns a convenient option for busy individuals.

With traditional crowns, patients often need to wear temporary restorations while waiting for the permanent crown to be fabricated. Same-day crowns eliminate the need for temporary crowns, providing a more seamless and comfortable experience.
