Dr. Evan Matthysse grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University, where he received his undergraduate degree in business. He then headed to NYU for Dental School before completing his year-long General Practice Residency at a practice in the Bronx. Dr. Matthysse proceeded to spend another two years completing a Postdoctoral Implantology Fellowship at NYU and practiced in New York City for over a decade. In 2020, he decided that it was time to make a change and moved out to Austin. He couldn’t be happier.
Dr. Matthysse just recently achieved the FAGD accreditation, one of the highest awards a dentist can receive. An FAGD accreditation requires 500 hours of education after the doctoral degree and residency. Less than 5% of dentists nationwide have accomplished this honor. With his commitment to dental excellence, you can rest assured Dr. Matthysse will provide only the highest quality care for you and your smile.
When Dr. Matthysse isn't living his dream of helping people achieve their ideal smiles, he enjoys reading and staying active. You’ll find him running, lifting weights, paddle boarding, shooting, and even competing in Spartan Races.

Veronica is a Texas native, originally from El Paso, TX.After being a dental assistant for 9 years she went back to school to pursue dental hygiene. She graduated from Coastal Bend College with her Associates in Dental Hygiene in 2015. She makes sure patients have a positive, comfortable visit and helps them achieve and maintain their dental health with each appointment. In her free time, she is a nutrition coach through a local Austin gym and loves spending time with her three kids and husband.

Yvette is the office coordinator for Dr. C’s patients. Yvette is the person who will generally handle your scheduling, insurance, and arrangements on your visits. Yvette is also a registered dental assistant and has excellent knowledge of the dental questions you may have. She has been working for Dr. C for over 16 years. Yvette and her husband are the proud parents of two beautiful children. She enjoys craft work and reading with a nice cup of tea.

Mona has been in dentistry for over 20 years. Mona is Dr. Chelkowski’s chairside assistant for 14+ years. She loves dentistry, reading, movies and spending time with her grandchildren and dog, Sandy.

Originally from Illinois, Kristie has lived in Austin for the past 10 years. She started her career in Illinois where she worked in the same practice for 25 years. Kristie has been with South Austin Dental Associates since January 2012. Kristie enjoys helping create beautiful smiles with Dr. Matthysse and making people laugh. When she’s not at work Kristie enjoys most outdoor activities and spending time with family, friends and her 2 beloved cavapoos.

Karina graduated from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She has been in the dental field since 1996, and has worked at South Austin Dental Associates since 2013. Our patients love her thoroughness in treating their overall health. Karina is committed to continual education and has a true passion for patient care. Karina loves spending time camping, hiking and traveling with her family.
